Hello, Dreamer here. I'm Empressportugoose/ fan-clan-fun from tumblr, but everywhere else on the internet I go by Dreamer, including most roleplay forums. I am so excited to see a forum specifically for debating and sharing worldbuilding efforts! Now my poor husband doesn't have to be the only one to hear my rants.
Anyway, Im a married college student, working on a history degree. I've been part of the warriors fandom since...2010ish, roleplaying since 2012 on and off. Once or twice I attempted to start my own roleplaying forum with little success. Currently I roleplay on two websites and am planning a major fanfic project with a few smaller thoughts on the side.
As for what part of worldbuilding I enjoy, it is the complex building of societies. I love traditions, culture, knowledge and history. Which kind of follows considering my major. As part of that I enjoy trying to find a balance of realism in my stories, genetically, character-wise, scientifically, etc. For example I recently spent several days researching scientifically based herb and plant remedies actually used by veterinarians to treat cats. Unfortunately to most casual roleplayers or warriors fans I can kind of seem super uptight and occasionally challenge people's flawed logic. Logic people. Please. I am always up for debating and discussing flaws in the Warriors series and how it could have been written better, and enjoy particularly efforts by other writers which include rewriting the warriors series in a more plausible, and genetically correct manner.
Surprisingly I stuck out with warriors for a long time before I decided i couldn't take the ridiculousness anymore. I read all the way up to the second book of Dawn of the Clans, and any Super edition that had been released by then. Anything after that I am only nominally aware of.
Oh, as for favorite characters... Brightheart is definitely top. After all she went through as an apprentice she was still strong, and her and Cloudtail's relationship, despite the mishap with Daisy, was solid and in my opinion for the most part a good example. As for other characters I like....well Mistystar is also up there, and I wish some of the series was written from her erspective. She persevered and served her clan faithfully and through all its trouble, helping Riverclan to mend after Tigerstar despite the fact that they had tried to kill her, and dealt with the knowledge of her parentage well under the circumstances. For the most part she seemed like a solid practical, faithful warrior who deserved to become leader.
Anyway, Im excited to discuss so many things with everyone and be able to share my worldbuilding thoughts! I think about cats way too much, so I will be a frequent presence!
